#3 Nightshifts can affect genes.

I am trying to find off the wall topics to relate back to economics. This and Betty Whites birthday were my two choices, I was upset when the article was just pictures with descriptions. But, in the article it states that they did a study on 22 people and letting them sleep through the night and then forcing them to sleep from Noon to 6:30 the second and third days. After taking blood samples all three days, the doctors found that the timing of gene activity in the body are extremely impaired. Everyone is wondering what does this matter to me well it matters because it affects your protein making abilities, and again what the heck is that? well it has everything to do with all chemical procceses, hormones athletic ability, mood and brain function, and it increases the possibility for heart attach and stroke. and this study was only set for 3 days we have no idea how the long term affects are.

First of all i still can't get over the fact that i couldn't do my blog on betty whites birthday. but this is interesting to me because a lot of people in my family work night shift and it is scary what it does to you. You would think that it would be the same but if you think about it there isn't much night life except for parties and if you are a nurse and you work a 12 hour night shift you aren't going to want to go to a party. But life happens during the day and i know a lot of people that really doing sleep much and that is HORRIBLE for anyones health. of  Now to how it relates to econ, think about it people having heart attacks & strokes= nurses, the studies= scientist, hormones, and brain functions = doctors. so this is a problem and even though we have to have it, it is so dangerous, for americas health.

Ashley Hill 2nd Current Event Target Holiday Breach

The Target breach was larger than expected that about 70 million customers were affected but really about 110 million customers were affected. I don't think they really know. Another large retailer said that they had been breached as well. but no names we're released. it is said that it could be the largest retail breach in us history. the CEO says ""Clearly we are accountable and we are responsible—but we are going to come out at the end of this a better company and we are going to make significant changes," Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel said in an interview with CNBC."  Along with the 40 billion people that got all their credit info stolen, the hackers took addresses and email addresses and phone numbers. And not only just the people that went shopping during the holidays but the people that they stole the peoples identity were stored as well as new. which is extremely scary. and maybe even online shoppers. in closing this is a crazy event and it makes target look bad.

In my opinion Target isn't handling this whole thing the way i feel that they should be responding more regretfully , but i know that there was nothing that they could do about it, but as an extremely large company that deals with many people  every single day . Most every person that i have ever talked to has shopped at Target at least once  and think about the amount of people that don't use cash. what about all the people that  have target credit cards . How does that affect them?  I know that you are wondering how is this attached to Economics well, it is directly connected with it because it is dealing with peoples credit cards being sold on the black market. How is this going to affect the credit scores of the american people? As my closing all i have to say is get it together Target.

The Record Cold Spell

In all 50 states including Hawaii, it was below freezing. Which for some like here in Georgia we celebrate in the snow but, schools, jobs and airline flights were canceled. People couldn't go to dinner and a movie, Vacations or the mall. Which means that if there jobs weren't closed then they had to go but if there was no way to work then they couldn't go anyway.  We cranked up the heat in our houses, and we turned up the heat at our jobs. Which at most places if they were open spent more on heat then they made the whole day. More than 2,600 flights were canceled in the US on Tuesday. Three Trains all going to Chicago were delayed overnight that's about 500 passengers How does this relate to the economy? It is estimated that $5 billion loss in the U.S. economy because of the amount of people that it affected (about 200 million).

In my opinion the american people suffered greatly because of all the power outtages, death, pipes bursting, wrecks, house repairs, and spiked power and natural gas bills. Just the amount of pipes that bursted in pickens county was crazy. All the power trucks were deployed to fix every thing. All the insurance companys and p with ople paying out of pocket for their wrecks. I think it wont be affected that much but it will be affected.  because of all the  spikes in prices, and out west I can't imagine the amount of cattle that froze to death and died thats why beef is so high right now. While in Georgia we run inside at 45 degrees in Michigan there was temps. That could freeze human flesh  in 4 minitues which is absolutely insane.(136)In closing I hope this is the end of the below positive cold weather but I feel as if it is just the beginning.
